Zinedine Zidane

Why should one moment of madness take away a lifetime of greatness? Why should Zizou be remembered for an act that was so obviously the response to a provocation. And if it was preplanned as a ploy to get the great player sent off the field, then it is a very sad day indeed for the great game of football and for all lovers of the game! The sorrow of playing his last international match, a lifetime of living and succeeding the way he did in spite of his Algerian roots would all have contributed to that momentary madness. I wish the clock could be rolled back and the incident never took place!

was that completely zidane's fault? may be not

it was wicked trick from the italian in holding zidane's body from moving just a couple of seconds earlier to the infamous zidanes act last night.
the italians played the same tricks by doing extra actions against germany.

overall, zidane must have kept kool to keep things in is hold.coz france could have been more confident if he was there to the end and could have been a tremendous farewell aswell if it was their victory making him a legend.

If there was any racial abuse, then FIFA needs to act and put things right !

Fifa World Cup 2006 has been a fine tournament. Germany has been a faboulous host to millions of football lovers from across the planet. Players from Africa, Asia, Australia, the Americas and Europe have been great ambassadors of the game. Referees, officials and administrators have worked round the clock to make the tournament a success.

The Red Card to one of the game's all time greats has created some doubts in the minds of many. Reports from various sources tend to say that there was racial abuse that led to the incident. Fifa needs to check on that and put the matter right.

Fifa World Cup 2006 motto has been: Say NO to racism. Supposing there has been a racial slur that led to the Red card then measures need to be taken to rectify the sad situation.

If the Italian player is found to be guilty and cause of the provocation then FIFA should show that it has the courage of conviction to score the most decisive GOAL in World Cup history.

Fifa could: 1)Withdraw the Red Card. 2) Apologise to Zidane for the racial slur on behalf of the Champions. 3) Strip Italy of the title. 4) Place a heavy monetary fine on the team. 5)Ban Italy from participating in the World Cup 2010.

His behaviour compelling a red one was totally lacking the spirit of the game.

He wanted to game the Italian goalkeeper or what ?

As an old saying "It takes two to make a quarrel",so ,It was not zidane who started ,It was preplaned politics from Italy. It's quite natural to get irate if someone abuses you on your race,of course the way in which zidane replied that was not acceptable especially from such a great player.
He should have kept his cool, but the fortune was something different.
