Shots on goal
by Satyajit on Jul 07, 2006 10:14 PM

There are several ways to increase the number of shots on goal...

1. The team with possession of the ball having a defined time to get it
out of the half.

2. Possession changes if there is a back-pass to your own half to
defenders or goalie resulting in a throw-in from the point of pass.

3. Each side having a defined 3-4 minutes to try an attempt at goal
failing which they give up the ball to the opposition.

4. Defenders cannot set an off-side trap greater than 25-30 yards
from goal.

5. When the ball is in the opposition half, the team with possession
can only leave 2 defenders and a goalie behind.

Suggestions are made to improve the pace of the game and ensure
strikes and counter-strikes. There are too many games with 0-0 ties,
the only excitement being provided by the penalty kicks that follow.

I hope FIFA takes note before they start losing fans.

Atleast 80% of the SOCCER players are spoiling a beautiful game.

I think that they spend most of time in falling/pretending practices than actually practicing the skills of the game.

If no action is taken now, next worldcup match will be conducted by Hollywood, not FIFA. Because, that many number of talented actors are there.

These kind of players, even if they escape from the Referees, must be punished severely, based on the video evidence. Say, the culprits must be banned for atleast 2 matches.

And, if a team wins a match using such tricks, that match must be declared cancelled and consider it a draw. In case of knockouts, just knockout the team and declare them as losers.

And, don't allow players like Peter Crouch (of England) to play football. Make a height restriction, otherwise, in future, you can see atleast 3 Peter Crouches in every team. It looks very ugly, when they run around in the field. Let them play games like basketball!

THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO SAVE FOOTBALL.
