Ricardo salvages Portugal dream

Ricardo deserves praise for his outstanding Goal Keeping. In the Germany Argentina match also, as in this one it appeared that one of the team's goalies was outstanding while the opposite team's goalie had no clue as to how to react. The Argentinian and English goalies were both found jumping in the wrong direction to save penalty kicks. Maybe the Argentinian and English players were too kind to the opposition goalies and not as adept at disguising the direction of their kick, as the German and Portugese players were.

Congratulations to the Portuguese Goalkeeper !

Long periods of ball possession, probing ground passes, intelligent use of space on the flanks and quick interchange of positions appear to be the main strengths of this Portuguese Seleção. In defence wingbacks Ricardo Carvalho and Minguel have been outstanding. Goalkeeper Ricardo conducted himself well during the penalty ceremony. One thought England fought bravely even with ten men for most of the period. In young Aaron Lennon they have a quality player. Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Cole, Robinson, Owen Hargreaves and the young Lennon were outstanding. Good luck to them in their next campaign.
