kudos to all achievers in India in sports
by JOHN LOUIS on Dec 30, 2006 10:58 PM

My heartiest congrats to all achievers in India in 2006. Keep it up.
Besides what all mentioned in the article, there are many unsung achievers from India. To say a few, a 10 year old boy, Bernett, who solved a RUBIK'S CUBE BLINDFOLDED in the DUTCH OPEN-2006 in just 3 min 55.77 sec. He is the YOUNGEST IN THE WORLD to have achieved this. In addition he broke 6 Asian Records in various cube solving events. All these are in open category!!!!!! He also ranks in TOP-10 in the world in 3*3*3, 4*4*4, 5*5*5, square-1 cube solving category! Is he not a achiever ? All his achievements had gone unnoticed, because it is not a popular sport in India. I do not know, how many unsung heros in India who had made India Proud in 2006. My hearty congrats to all those unsung heros of India!!!!!

Where is golf?
by Partha on Dec 30, 2006 07:25 PM

The article is quite good except for the fact that rediff completely missed out on the achievements made by Jeev Milkha Singh, Arjun Atwal, Jyoti Randhawa and Shiv Kapoor in the golf field. Man, they made us proud this year. It's a pity rediff has overlooked them.
