Well,it is a sport.Someone has to win and other one has to lose. But it was funny to see rediff Speculate and celebrate Sania's win yesterday. They firmly believed that Sania would win.Only one thing to tell the person who wrote that article"It ain't over till it's over".It is something that the English cricket team learnt the difficult way after the second ashes test.
Like I said, you guys are so 'full' of hot air, tootin' your own horn, always with the empty-boasting, and always coming up empty handed - losers! It's one thing to report the 'news', it's quite another thing to be so blatantly impartial.
Congratulations Sania. Sania has done the Country proud. It does not matter that she lost in the finals and could not bag the Gold. But what matters is that she is a true sportsman and played the game with grit & determination and bounced back after the loss of the first set.The better player won and hence nothing to feel bad. Three Cheers to Sania.
The indian media ,in particular and Sania needs to be reminded of the reality- that she is still not the best even in asia let alone think of winning slams. It is not to belittle her achievements-that she has to go a long way. The indian media has created a hype around her -tracking her every move- at the cost of other sportspersons who really deserve attention and support.Look at Yaspal Rana.He has done much better than what sania has done in this game.Thank God,he don't need the Sania-mad indian media -there is the games organising committee to appreciate him!! Sania -the most hyped player ever-deserves this final loss to Zheng to let her know her true capability. But will the indian media learn something?? May not be,if past is any indication!!!
She has won one final at home, thats it and then the same old lack of killer instinct.
absolutely inconsistent and wonder if she just commits herself to holding onto a decent atp rank and nothing more. so as far as we are concerned we have an indian in the top 50.
leander is the real star, no second thoughts on that.
It is good that she won silver in asian cicuit Sania must under stand she is playing tennis not in TV commercials. at least now if she concentrates on her game she may qualify in coming tournements and improve her ranking instead of comercials
Looks like the Inidan media created too much of hype because Sania reached the finals. They even went to the extent of interviewing her father. At the same time last night I watched the womens 4x100 relay team win the gold medal. There was just a news flash and a casual mention of the team wining the gold medal. If someone had really seen the effort put in by those 4 women their heart would have gone out to them.Especially Kanwaljit Kaur, she ran the race of her life time. She was solely responsible for India getting the first place. Why dint the Indian media not bother to interview her parents? Its a shame that media does not recognise the achievement of the relay girls but gives huge coverage to Sania just because she has entered the finals.Well all that hype about Sania reaching the finals and wining a gold is over now.Hope now atleast the media will wake up.
Sania is over hyped as a tennis player. She is found wanting in her temperament. Indians look at her only as a glamour doll & not as a tennis player. It is high time people stop talking about her so called past glory. Open your eyes tennis world. We have given too much importance for one who don't deserve it. Instead we will praise our asiad medal winners & encourage them to achieve greater heights.
