India is full of talented sportsmen,but it is cuel to see that in every sports body we find either shrewd politician or politically backed influential personality, who have neither played a the game nor have the basic knowledge to hunt & motivate the talented players. We get feeble-minded & self-centred bosses of for each sports body who runs with the help of few psycophants and has no commitment towards the Nation. A Federation must be allocated and periodically rotated for an effective control and producing the results.The Head of a ferderation must be from the disciplined body, e.g. Hockey be brought under the Chairmanship of the Chief of Army Staff(3 yrs)& Chairman of Indian Airlines(3yrs). Similarly Athletics -IndianArmy/Indian Railways, Boxing- Indian Army /Indian Airforce, Cycling-CISF / ITBP Rowing- Indian Navy / Coast Guard Shooting-Indian Army / Border Security Force Equestrianism- Indian Army Yachting -Indian Navy(Chief of Naval Staff) One must believe that any sports can progress under a Government Body which is accountable to the nation. Here we dont even question these Heads of Sports Federation who bring indignity to India.? Are they accountable.?
This is really a matter of national shame. It would be good to see the reaction of our MPs for this debacle in hockey that is our national sport. The only reason for this could be the politics in teh selection of the team.
Trajedy is the only word we can use about India's hockey. Systematic annihilation of India's national grame. Next in the line is Cricket. Then someone will try to destroy India's capability in Nuclear, IT till our great is destroyed with the help of our own people. Then Pralayam will set in.
Its a greatest shame for Indian Hockey that India failed to make it to the semis. So, the the last resort is for the IHF Chief & Coach to resign gracefully or face the wrath of the people.
as long as the present president of hockey federation remains on this seat, the fortunes of indian hockey will not change. the kondali of indian hockey team doesnot match the kondali of present president hockey fedration of india.
i dont know why our politician clowns do not wish to disscuss the decline of our national game under IHF and the other clown K.P.S.Gill, under whom this great sport has been suffering for the past many years in our country and no one wants to talk about it nor take the necessary action to throw Gill Out. He, i feel is soley responsible for the rut that has set into the sport in this country. It will take a long time to reverse this process. Also, the IHF is a fully corrupt body like all the other sports associations in the country and it needs to be thorougly overhauled to make it an effective body in order to once again make India a power to reckon with in World Hockey.
