Mr. Rathod has to follow the rules. He is not above anybody else. Why do he feels superior after getting the Silver at Olympics. The organisers are doing there at most to make this games a success. By accusing the volunteers he has not followed the basic commitment which the expatriates Indians here are involved. Be a good sportsman. Winning and Loosing can happen always.

How do you know that the organizers are doing everything correct? Just because the organizers are not from India does not make them GOD. I have lived outside India for more than 20 years now (including the middle east) and have found in fact everyone is arrogant (like the Aussies showed to Pawar in India itself) while behaving with the Indians (or any "third" world country for that matter). If you look at the plight of various malyalees living in middle eastern countries, including kids who are being used for camel racing and women who are being used as prostitues except for whites who are being treated as GOD, you will not make such un-substantiated comments about organizers doing everything right and Rathod being on the wrong side. He is an officer of the Indian military and that is reason enough for me to be proud of him. MAY BE he had something that he felt discriminated against by the american loving arabs and hence he acted the way he did. Unless we have the full details (and story from both sides), we should not pass judgement on any one.

If the reportr is correct, and I have no reasons to doubt its authenticity, then Rathore, who is a sportsman, a commissioned officer in the Indian Army, and a responsible person, should unconditionally apologise to the Doha Games organizers.

He has let down my country, my service (I am a retired Army officer), and has broken the code of conduct for all sportsmen.

Lieutenant Colonel Gautam Prasad
