Sania
by jamie on Apr 06, 2006 03:27 PM

The year started off very well for Sania at the exibition in Hong Kong ut after that she seems to be on a downward trend.I really don't understand what is happenning to her, somehow she seems to be distant and distracted.I hope she will be ok soon. All are fans are concern and wants to see Sania play a good match irrespective of the result.Againts Lisa Raymond Sania was hitting wildly and struggled to keep the ball inside the court. Her loss to the qualifier before this tournament had the same inconsistence play.Is the wrist injury still troubling her?If yes than she needs to stop and allow the injury to heal.Hope she gets well from whatever that is aling her.Common Sania,we want to see you play your powerful game. All the best.

You news guys must be having readymade fully typed news items on how 'Sania loses in First round'-You just have to change the tournamant, the opponent and scoreline!
As Padma Sri Sania herself admits,Sprite kare no Chamatkaar..
And as in the Tata indica ad-I have to say "must be true, yaar"

She is not a super human to win all her matches.
She is an ordinary girl.
Look at her exploits of the previous year (2005).
WTA itself has acknowledged her achievements and awarded her as the best new comer of the year 2005.
Each player goes through a bad patch, and this is a bad patch for her.
She will surely be back to her winning ways and i will talk to you then.
Even great players like tendulkar, etc have and are going through bad form. it is but natural in sports.
And i think you donot have the common sense of distinguishing between sports and commercials.
tata indicom...sprite...ha ha ha...
why dont you talk about any other commercials, you .....all you people know is to just watch commercials...
its time you got some brain.

Come on Sania
by Aman on Apr 06, 2006 01:16 PM

Winning and losing are part of the game. Every rise has a fall and every fall has a rise. She is soon going to be there on the top. Maybe she is not fit, may be she is having some problems with her elbow. Maybe.....
But she will soon be back to her winning ways.
Here's wishing her all the luck.

She needs to change the way she approaches each match
by Bharat Shrinevas on Apr 06, 2006 04:04 AM  | Hide replies

I think Sania has a lot of game, but she is under a lot of pressure to perform every time. Also feel there is a lot of hype from the Indian media. Give me one good reason she was awarded the PadmaShri? First Indian woman to win a WTA title that too in HYD against a depleted field? Whats up with that?

She has to improve on her serve, improve her oncourt attitude. She can't keep going for winners on every shot and tell that's the way she plays and thats why her unforced errors are high. Though I think mentally she is strong she has to improve her shot selection. I think she is going to struggle to defend her points and stay within the top 50 this year. If she does that, its commendable.

You want a reason as to why Sania was given Padma shri, and you make fun of her winning at hyderabad.

Shame on you...

Remember you ...., she is the first indian tennis player to have won a WTA event.

She is the first indian to have reached the top 50.
like this i can go on about the her exploits....

You donot know anything man...

Let another girl from india win a WTA, get into top 50.Its not that easy mate.Try to understand.
If you cannot praise you better donot comment.
Think twice before commenting anything about her.

ooh Sania !!!
by SriramK on Apr 06, 2006 03:38 AM

Just before this there was a news about Sania that she was up by 2 places. She is a good player. Probably She needs more practice to become No. 1. Too much of pubilicity would become a cause for loosing sometimes.

by GIRISH on Apr 06, 2006 12:54 AM

Lot of publicity and media hype have do a lot of harm to sania's performance in recent past. She should concentrate in her game and try win more games for india, instead of exiting from all tournments in first round.

i dont know what is big deal about Sania loosing. She is not good when compare to other Tennis stars at her age around the world. I know when Martina Hingis(spell problem)entered tennis world, she was only 17 or 18 and went on to become top champion on more than one occassion. but sonia never had that potential. so if she loses...so wat...get a life....
ight yo'll....take care...gotta go..

Its just a usual hype created by media. She has no potential to win games at the international level. Its a chance for political parties at power to get votes by supporting her (as she is from minority caste) companies to get a timely benefit from advertisements. Now she has got enough popularity and money. Then what for is tennis now. its just like the story of another cricketing star.
