More than selecting a coach i think the concern should be on popularising the sport all over the nation and giving the national team more of quality international exposure.
Its time India goes for a reputed foriegn coach and promote futball in a big way.A new foriegn coach will bring with him a lot of international experience,tactical knowlwedge and his ability to spot talent and make them into stars.Wat we need is to make a Ronaldinho or Gerrard who can pull more audience to leave cricket and see football.All over Asia football is bcoming a rage and I feel very bad seeing India ata 150+ ranks while Japan and S.Korea are challenging Brazil and England.Even a country like uzbekistan which u cant identify where it is on map immediately is payin qualifiers and we are cursing our coach for not playing btyr futball against a lowly pakistan or some othr country.For a country like India, wat we need is some one to show the way and just push us a bit and we can conquer anythng tht comes along.One more thng I want to ask indian ppl is plz hate cricket plz..so tht games like Hocky and futball bcome more important. Its hard to believe tht we got only few hockey stadiums of global standard while a lot of fqin cricket stadiumsr acroosss the country.I wish Shivsena dugs all these pitches someday.
