There is no doubt that Anand is best player after Kasparow. With Gary declaring retirement there is no competition for him now. Gary was frustrated with attitude of FIDE. Anand also suffered a lot due to FIDE. In spite of showing consistancy he could not increase his standing due FIDE rules while Kasparow enjoyed the top spot doing nothing ! And still he was frustrated ! That is strange.
