Sania played well, but I think she did not play the major points well, which was the difference between winning and losing. She definitely matched Svetlana stroke for stroke and in the initial stages looked better. In typical Indian fashion, I would say she snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Svetlana was definitely beatable by sania on that given day.
She needs to develop the serve and volley skill, along with the ability to play good drop shots, if she aspires to improve her Wimbledon performance. Ask Vijay Amritraj or Paes. On grass, not having these means you are handicapped severely. This was very apparent form Sania's match.
Wish her the best for the future matches. Though it was disappointing to see her lose, I guess we will see an improved version soon.
I certainly support Sania Mirza in her say that her match against Kuznetsova was not her best performance till date. She committed mistakes pretty frequently which did not help her cause. But her effort was surely wonderful. It was a great match! But anyway its not theend of the road for her,,after all..she has just started her career, which, i suppose will b nurtured well in the years to come and hope she brings more n more laurels to our Country in the next 8-9 years[atleast] she plays.
