Michelin Problem
by Pravat Parida on Jun 23, 2005 03:40 PM

Michelin should test their tyres before the race for every GP and should have some alternative option. It is very painful everybody to watch the GP without any competion.

Ferrari not to blame
by Kuntal A Joisher on Jun 20, 2005 01:46 PM

Everybody knows that Ferrari said it was a FIA desision to make. In this case it is fair. Ferrari have been having problems with one lap qualy the whole season, they didnt go to the other teams and ask them if they could do best of 3? MS was pulled back when he had 2 punctures, the tyres werent safe.

I'm not blaming any of the teams that didnt drive, I mean safety comes first, but please you cant blame ferrari and the FIA if some stupid person at michelin didnt make the right tyre choice!!!!

The next race ferrari should ask for an extra corner, if they dont give it Ferrari, Jordan and Minardi should withdraw!! RULES ARE RULES. Now matter how stupid they are. They are there for a purpose!!!

Even if they did put the chicane in, and the michelin runners reaced, but not for points, what would have happened if Alonso (saw that MS could win this race and put himself back in contention for the WC) pushed MS off the track with a DNF? What would have happened to his points? That's unfair.

So well done FERRARI, JORDAN, MINARDI & BRIDGESTONE for bringing the right package to USA!! And yes for Michelin they should accept the blame and MOVE ON!!

pathetic

truly a pathetic race but for those who heard the response from FIA to michellins request said it something to the effect that if a component maker with experience like that of michellin should not do such mistakes and asking for any alteration of track was ruled out. Atleast in my opinion seems right bcos its like india saying our bolwers are injured only if the batsmen could not hit them fast or reduce the pitch length. Also what if bridgestone would have had same prolem it would have been 6 drivers out and probably there would not have been many such comments come out people would have forgotten about it. OR consider this Ferrari says we have an engine problem can others drive a bit slow? FIA would say get lost. And finally, how can FIA allow qualifying round on one track and rrace on an altered track?
FIA stuck by rules!!!

Michelin is to blame for this farce caused at indy
by Kuntal A Joisher on Jun 20, 2005 03:13 AM  | Hide replies

Michelin to get more performance out of their tyre compromised with the safety, which led to Raikkonnen crashing 2 weeks earlier, and Ralf Schumacher crashing at indy this week. Michelin clearly are to blame for todays farce at indy, where all the michelin shod teams had to pullout due to safety concerns. The suprising thing is that Michelin is not even willing to accept the blame. Instead it blames the FIA, which is so very wrong. This is a Michelin tyre problem. Bridgestone didnot have any issues with the tyres. So why should the rules be changed to favor someone who didnot do their homework. Also the suggestions provided by FIA I think were pretty rational. They asked to lower the speeds, or use new tyres (with penalty), or change tyres during the race as needed. But none of these were acceptable to Michelin people, because they wanted to break the rules, not get penalized and still Win the race. Way to Go!! Anyways the interest in sport is declining here in US and something like this to happen at such a time -- its a shame. Michelin is totally to be at blame and should be penalized in some way going forward. On a happier note Michael schumacher won after fighting a tough battle.

Well well.....Schumacher winning after a tough fight! I think that deserved to be said about him or lets say Ferrari. The way things are going for them it was definitely a tough race for Schumacher and Ferrari with..oh...6 cars! Michelin is to be blamed for things..ok do that. Don't we all know how many teams run on Michelin and how they are performing? About this particualr case, maybe we can blame them, just maybe.

But I just wonder whats happening in the Ferrari camp! Rules changed this year for everybody, and others have adapted well to the changes. So what are the engineers, technicians, team manager and even the drivers doing about it. How much more time they need to figure out what's going wrong let alone to come up with a way out. They have reigned for five yrs in a row, they are strong, mentally and technically! So what's up guys! Wake up!

On second thoughts are you doing favour to others by not winning...juss to keep the interest alive!

US Grand PRix

If safety was a concern, qns shld be asked why did Mclaren allow Kimi to drive the European Grand Prix inspite of his having lot of problems...

This shows that this event was more political than Safety...
