India winnin matches at the junior level is a good news but it jst gives us an idea about how bad the sports facilities are here in India. I say this because at the junior level we win matches because of the actual talent of the sportsmen. At the higher professional level the training facilities, fitness, coaching play a lot more important role. The lack of these facilities is stressed by the fact that the junior teams (whether its cricket where the under 18 team reached the world cup finals n now the under 18 hockey team is on its way to a secured semi-final berth) perform really well in the under 18 world cups but when further polishing is required at the profesional level we go down drastically. The amazing performance at the under 18 reflects the tremendous talent that is present. The government should realise the need to provide the appropriate facilities to nurture this talent further.
