Re: Hery's anti-racism campaign

It is wonderfull to see players making a difference making history to end racism in football and any other sport. It is absolutely important in the interest of our children throughout the world for a soccer player to be judged according to the peformance that they display on the field not according to the colour of their skin. I would like do say on behalf of my future children,my future grandchildren,my nieces and nephews my fellow neighbors and from the global community at large, THANK YOU!

Henry launches anti-racist drive
by A fellow supporter on Apr 11, 2005 12:10 AM

I am a big fan and a strong supported of Thierry Henry and what he has done to improve the game of football. After hearing he is taking action against the racism in football in Europe with his 'Stand up - Speak up' campaign. I would like to give them all my support and respect, but unfortunately I am unable to purchase the 'Stand up - Speak up' wristbands because I live in the United States. So Im asking anyone if there is anyway I will be able to purchase them.

After hearing about the new anti-racism campaign 'stand up, speak up'. i would like to say that i'm going to support them all the way. I feel it is about time more was done to prevent racism even being an issue.Lets hope that people can give their support on this too, to stamp out the racism. The campaign is a very effective idea that henry and other footballers have come together to do.I give them, all my support and respect.

The Stand Up - Speak Up Campaign !
by Dr. Cajetan Coelho on Jan 28, 2005 07:03 PM

For humanity to march on in dignity and respect, the STAND UP - SPEAK UP CAMPAIGN has plenty to offer that can go a long way in healing our past and present injuries and prevent future wounds. The evil of ugly racism has dogged humanity for centuries and it is time that the collective conscience of humanity works towards eradicating this menace. Footballers who enjoy the privilege of being watched by millions across the globe have an important role to play in inviting the larger audience to make an examination of one's conscience and to rid oneself of racist tendencies and attitudes. Governments, Socio-cultural organizations, Religious Congregations, Churches of different denominations, NGOs, Clubs, Schools, Colleges, Universities and Families need to play their part in a concerned manner for the emancipation of all. French footballer Thierry Henry and his football colleagues have taken a momentous step in the right direction. More and more sportspersons need to join such a noble cause and liberate humanity of all forms of racism in every aspect of life. In our post modern era, considerations based on the basis of race and skin colour look glaringly unscientific and pre-historic !
