There is no harm to call him ADIVASI. Calling him an Adivasi is no disgrace to him. Adivasi means the aboriginal people. Usually these people are very ill equiped in terms of resources . But look how great is this sundergarhian that he rose inspite of all the hurdles. If right kind of facilities is given to Western orissa, there will be tons of talents to cope up with.
( Sultans Victory I knew that it would be really difficult for other teams to break the shackles of Sultans tight defence. Throughout league matches Sultans applied man-to-man marking tactics and that really killed the beauty of this game. I was shucked to see the deserted ground and it happend despite so much boom had been created by media, but it seems Indians are still not ready to appreciate this artistic game of hockey. The reason that might be that all the matches played in one venue consider this IHF should reshape the format of this competition and allow teams to play on home and away bases just like English Soccer league. This kind of system would attract crowd . and at the end, I hope that things will start working for both Pakistan and India. Azlan Khan, Peshawar,Pakistan

Isnt tat supposed to be some caste ??? are u giving him worng publicity are u trying to make the upper csste aware of his caste?
as a hoceky player myself i haven seen a much better player emerge out of any other caste than the adivases their fitness quickness and toughness is not found in others, but this msg is in bad taste to use his caste sending is wrogn signals.. please keep sports aways from caste and religion and whatever
He may be adivasi or brahmin, one must appreciate the rise of star with single minded devotion and hardwork. Let's not say "Adivasi became king", instead brand it as "Hardwork made him king".
I have reservations on title of the article. As far as I know, adivasi is a culture and Dilip Tirky does not represent that culture. After converting to Christianity, is it right to refer him as an adivasi?
