gill 's misbehaviour

The selection of players in India since independence was decided more for their political and bureaucratic connections, for their psycophancy skills, region, religion, language they speak, bribes they offered and by the idiosuncracies of the selectors. And less on the factors such as their skills, independence, courage, self respect, potential and things like that. MR Gill deserves to be immediately dismissed and made to apologise to the journalists for his worst temperament and behaviour. His molestation of a woman IAS officer in the past should be reinvestigated in depth by better judges.

Is Gill normal?
by Abe on May 08, 2004 03:02 AM

He might have done wonders in the past. However, right now it looks like this guy is out of his mind.
How can one like him dictate the fortunes of the Indian Hockey team, which finally has a chance to win a medal. Don't the higher authorities have the power to fire him and get things in order.
By omitting the top three players in the country by saying they are not fit, he may be able to settle scores against them, but it's definitely not in the interest of the team and the nation.

Gill's behaviour
by Vivek Gupta on May 08, 2004 03:02 AM

KPS Gill is doing exactly what he does best, ruling with an iron hand. He needs to realise that he is no longer a police chief of Punjab,he is presiding over a very public position and needs to dignify the post which he is holding. Accountability is something he is not used to, he needs to realise that as the chief of IHF he is acountable to public at large and people have every right to question his seemingly very reckless decisions.

IHF
by Sriram Venkitachalam on May 08, 2004 01:44 AM

IHF is crazy. They are the worst sports managing association for a game as important as hockey is for India. Imagine BCCI sacking Sachin, Saurav and Rahul? Outrageous ain't it?
They are just not professional. they dont seem to have any plan and even if they did they are so poor with the media that no one gets to know what they r upto. All we hear is how stupid the IHF is.
I say sack the IHF guys and get in someone from BCCI to run Hockey.

K.P.S.Gill

It is a sad thing to leave out Pillay, who is a mercurial player, and makes his opponents scare at him. But this Police officer from Punjab is taking his own decisions. First of all this old chowky wala has to be thrown out of the Federation
