How is Nakata in the list and not the almighty ecuadorian striker Alberto Spencer. Who still hold the record of being the Top Scorer of La Copa Libertadores.. I am not even ecuadorian.. i am uruguayo... but he did the most beutiful goals there.. He began in a game Penarol was loosing 2-0 and in the las 10 minutes he enter as he was in th bench and made 3 goals to give penarol the vistory.. he deserves it
while players like hazi deuff are included where is the place for greats like peter shilton of england ,roberto donadoni of italy & bebeto, cafu ,kaka of brazil

Come on Kaka is still young and he is yet to shine,as for Cafu you can hardly say he displayed a superb performance in Brasil's 2006 World Cup campaign this year to warrant him a place in the TOP 100 LIST.
El Hadji Diouf makes the top 100. Diouf plays with Steven Gerrard week in week out. Ask any football fan in the country, irrespective of who they support, which of these two team mates they would rather have in their team. I'm not suggesting Steven should be there but it does show the worth of this list.
Our hearty Congratulations to the 100 Great Living Footballers on the FIFA List prepared by the Great Pele. Some of us do feel that there should have been places for Belgian midfield maestro Enzo Scifo, Sweden's goal scoring machine Tomas Brolin and the highly respected and deadly striker Ian Rush from Wales !
ronaldinho is surprising...he still is a novice..a long way to go for him before he can be called great..sum names missing...wud be ryan giggs....peter shilton... and yes...when asked to point out the best strikers ever...dont really understand...how pele cud not name maradona...who arguably...is the greatest footballer ever...along with pele.....
RE:why ronaldinho?..where is giggs??

Partly I agree with folks saying Ronaldinho shouldnt be on the list because Im also not yet convinced he has reached his career peek yet,for him to be on the list.My understanding is that the list features greatest players of the 20th century, so let us not mourn too much we just began a new century,so player like Ronaldinho,Kaka, possiblely even Wayne Rooney or Cristiano Ronaldo are still going to be added in a future list because they are still young,a list probably compliled by a legendery footballer like ZIDANE!

are you insane?? Ronaldinho is one of the greatest footballer on the earth, may will be the greatest!!and he is not a novice. He won the FIFA worldcup, copa american cup, confederations cup, spanish champion in two consecutive season, finally the champions league.... what more is needed to be great??
while players like hernan crespo, javier zanetti, hidetoshi nakata find their place on the list it is missing some better players like enzo scifo(belgium), rudi voeller(germany), dejan savicevic, robert prosinecki(former yugoslavia) and a few others.... if one has to choose from every country then the FIFA should better not call it the list of 100 greatest football players alive....
