The talented Dutch squad of coach Dick Advocaat deserve to be in the next round. The team is loaded with talent and many among them can score. Ruud, Arjen, Davids, Clarence, Makaay, Overmaars, Hooijdonk, Kluivert, Cocu and others make scoring look very easy. Had it not been for the acrobatic saves from the Latvian Kolinko the Dutch could have returned from Braga with a a record score. Less known Latvia did well for themselves and leaving Euro 2004 at this stage with Germany, Italy, Spain and Croatia as early companions is not a mean achievement. This Dutch team if it can maintain the good form may come close to the squad of 1980s when Gullit, Rijkaard, Marco van Baasten and Ronald Koeman mesmerised one and all with their top class football. In hindsight one does feel that had there been a Dennis Bergamp just behind and in between Ruud van Nistelrooy and Arjen Robben goals would have come with the desired regularity.
