Yes..this is once again a British media creation..They had so many Pele s in past..Gaschoigne,Beckham, Owen..Rooney is really a great player as striker but he has long way to go before he can press himself as a competitor to Linekar..

I agree that it is nothing but a British fantacy only, because they have otherwise failed to achieve anything in soccer in last 4 decades other than producing imaginary soccer legends who keep on performing as per their limited potentials and yet the media keeps projecting them a all time greats. For this very baised attitude the real great Maradona who showed them their actual place in 1986 world cup is never remembered by them.
