Respected sir, Omitting PT Usha from the list of torch bearers, is again throwing light to the discrimination that the north has towards south. There are a number of martyrs for this attitude eg Ananthapatmanabhan, Tinu Yohannan etc from the field of cricket and a humpty number of persons from atletics and other divisons of sports. Last day the new PM has assured the left predominated MP'from Kerla, who visited him, that the center will not follow its usual attitude towards Kerala with regard to plan fund and related matters. Let time decide what happens. Is he aware about the discriminatory attitude or is he the same North Indian.....? Bye RAJ CAROLIN.V
IT IS A sad day for Indian sports. Our sports administers had used all their energies to use sex sirens of bollywood on such an important event . I do not know when thry will uderstand to honour our sportspersonalities.
when ever there is a fuction we run towards bollywood stars without thinking what for the function is being organised. This has to stop if sports has to grow in our country.
I hope our new soprts minister will stand up and listen.
Everyone associated with sports in the government today needs to be immediately fired. Considering the number of people we send to the Olympics, we must be one of the worst - if not THE worst - sporting nations on the planet.
Enough stupid cricket, people. Let's learn to play real sports.
It is a shame that names like PT Usha ,Prakash Padukone & many other stalwarts who has made the country proud in the field of sport does not figure in the list of torch bearers instead names like Bipasha Basu,Vivek Oberoi etc are very much in the limelight. Honourable Suresh Kalmadi should seriously find out why they went wrong.
