Lack of determination and corruption
by Seema on Jul 21, 2004 08:08 AM

I don't hope Indians ever going to won a medal in this century.
Indians has to learn 101 of sports.
Look at Chineese and US sports people.
In US world class athlets are living in a hand to mouth life. They are not getting undue attention in media. They don't have any reservations for education or job related. They are doing hourly jobs for their survival. But there spirit keep them as world class.
Look at the case in India.
The cancer of corruption is killing the future of sports in India. Look we even have ministry for sport. What the use. Reservation in jobs and schools.
Still what the return for the investement. Big Zero.
Just like our PSUs our sports personnel and the people involved with sport made this field another black hole.
When comes to sports Made in India is cheap brand.
I never hope this will change in near future. Thats the beauty we are Indians. CHEAP PEOPLE . . .

Good Observations

I completly agree with Milkha singh.

Atleast someone dared to say that the Emperor has no clothes.

As he correctly said, there is no use blaming the atheletes, for they are devoid of all sorts of encouragement from the respective departments.

Our hyped up Olympic spirit was much visible a couple of months back, when a olympian like Usha was completly ignored and a bimbo like Bipasha Basu was holding the cherished Olympic torch!

Cheers!

drug abuse

I totally agree with Milkha singh, The complete loss of standard in performance at international meets is really an important issue to look into. Drug test should be made mandatory at local meets too, we can bring out genuine talent only when we have stringent rules.
