India's last hockey gold came in 1980 olympics...over next 4 years if we could revive those glory days again..It will be a major win for whole nation..We still hold the record for maximum number of Golds :-)
I dont think there is anything to be happy about when you are second last! There are countries like USA, China, Russia, Aussies who take so much pride in winning the medal and where even bronze medal is considered bad and here we are happy about being at 7th place - team that ONCE was a world champ in hockey! One silver medal to show from the whole event for such a big country have to be shame for athletes competing and IOC administrators. Lots of training efforts needs to be put from grass roots level and those participants should be given good job security. When I heared that China's divers were practicing one same dive for 4 yrs to do it in rythm no wonder they won so many gold medals. I want to see our athletes singing national anthem with pride after winning the medal! Anyone with guts? We need to challenge ourselves because without challenging your own self you can not expect to be successful and if we think we are not that good enough then we should stop going to Olympics only to embarrass the whole country. Can I talk to our Sports minister please? :(
Hai Don't u feel it a ashame that we r having all sorts of argument in the field of sports when it to OLYMPICS . Though we performed as the way we usually do in all the OLYMPICS expect for 1 way back in the 50's.Its a request that we do'nt go or we make sure that we do'nt creat a BAD IMAGE of ourself
the pathetic show by the indian hockey team has pained my heart. when will they bring some cheer ? all the media hype camt to naught. the team india owes an explanation to us fans.
Even if we had three more medals after Gold, Siver & Bronze, as Brass, Steel & Aluminium, we wouldn't have got any. A very poor performance overall. While other teams rise to the occassion we have an impeccable nack of choaking.
