Anywhere in the world, except our dear nation, you criticize the coach and your career is doomed. You may not like the coach, but no matter how great you are, the team is bigger than the individual and the coach is singularly responsible for team's performace and not individuals.
Whoever has the authority,he should immediately sack KPS Gill and demand compensation from him for India's fiasco.The coach should not have been changed just before the Olympics.It was due to Gill's whims and fancies that Indian Hockey has suffered ever since the Azlan Shah Hockey tournament.
It's easy to play blame game after everything is over.. New coach one month before olympics, players don't know whether in the team or not,infighting, administrators( the drop cop).. What Prabhjot is saying is only because he is facing it himself, they have been doing all this themselves(along with oher punjabi puttar's) themselves to Dhanraj.. So it's best that we now look ourselves into mirror and face the thruth.. we are not the same hockey champions
he might not have done good, but didnt our coach knew this before.If he was so bad,why did he even let him play.Put him in extras.Why did the selection committee selected him @ the first place & about our German coach, he is not the only one complaining.ALmost all the players are complaining about him.He is trying to change their ways of playing.COme on,let them play the way they are comfortable right now,then go back to India and change their plannings & way of playing in next 4 years to appear in next Olympics.But I hope that our KPS GILL realizes this & thinks about it all over again.Why do we Indians have a complex of brown skin,why do we think that WHite skin can do better than us or teach us better than a brown skin coach.I'll say that its not the players,not the coaches, its KPS Gill.He made last minute changes to the team and team coaches.He said we didnt win anything under Rajinder's command..... ASK HIM HOW MANY MEDALS IS HE WINNING NOW UNDER THIS GERMAN COACH's COMMAND?????????????????????Believe me, if he would have let Rajinder SIngh with the tram for this year's olympic & see how they perform and then would have done necessary changes, it would have been much better.
Will somebody go and ask Mr. Prabhjot that if German coach is the cause of their failure, why they failed when he was not there to coach them?. God knows when the players would stop putting the blame on others rather their accepting their own fault on failure and trying to learn for it. One of the main reasons for continuous loss of India is this characteristic of not accepting one's fault and trying to put blame on others. This lead to divergance of energy from game to these argument and thus deteriorating of performances.
We wont ever know what caused it but some players failed to rise to the occasion. The worst performances in decreasing order according to me: 1. Prabhjot (Worst) 2. Dhillon 3. Dhanraj 4. Gagan
All said and done, I am still very hopeful since this team has done pretty well in the past 2 years or so and I hope that they will get their act together and perform better.
