Hats off to Shobha's feat. She has lived upto the true essence of the Olympics. I hope that the rest of the Indian contingent would take inspiration from her. I wonder why such heors are not given the kind of welcome that Major Rahore got. Even she deserves it, even if she did not win a medal. Atleast people came to know that India was participating.
Shobha, you have made all Indians proud and am sure future generations and students will take inspiration from your example and would be inspid to do their best even in most trying circumtances.
I feel you deserve a civilian award equivalent to Veer Chakra.
its pleasing to note that there is atleast one athlete who did not submit meekly, but rather fought pain and went to to give her best effort for the country.. hats off for the attitude. others should learn a lesson or two from shobha. way to go!!

Hi, I completely agree that Shobha really fought all odds to fight and show a credible performance in Olympics. This is in sharp contrast to Karnam Malleshwari, who didn't even make a determined effort to lift! So much money has been spent on her for the last 4 years, just with the hope that she will win a medal for medal starved India. She disappointed us all. That's the problem with many of us, we Indians tend to loose focus once we achieve little bit of success. I hope, such a complecency doesn't occur to Rathore who has made India proud my winning the first individual gold for India. Shobha you deserve a pat on your back for your brace effort and hats off to the the spirit of Olympics, for, all the spectators where cheering Shobha for her effort.Besides, fellow participants just could stop appreciate her commitment. That's what is required from an Indian. This is good reminder for hard work, commitment, pain, encouragement, support and the great spirit of Olympics.
