Indian Hockey at its Nadir
by jeev on Aug 20, 2004 06:58 AM

The Indian Hockey is at its nadir, in my opinion this is a fact and we had to better accept this.
We are just not good team to win laurells at the International level. We ahould stop giving excuses like the umpires were harsh or we didn't play to our potential or some such excuses. When we win means we win and we lose means we lose, thats it.

I think days are not far when we may not even qaulify for olympics. People like Gill et al. should hang their head in shame!

hi readers,

before i start getting replies to this msg let me make it clear that i am not taking credit away from our team for the last game against South Africa.

but the big question is how deserving and how convincing was that performance..??

our venerable pillay saab said after the match that being 2 down was a harrowing experience but do we realise that winning over S.A at the last couple of minutes is like defeating kenya on the last ball...!!!

still, wat matters at the end of the day is the victory but with such an advancement in technology where other teams can evaluate your performance on S.W.A.T with every match dont u think that the match agianst S.A had given enough "food" to australians to analyse the formidable defence..??

wat is disapointing is not the last minute loss to australians but the our representatives conducted themselves and repeated the same mistake which "luckily"S.A couldn't take advantage of..!!

plz stop playing like the amir's team of the movie "lagaan" where every one runs after the ball...!! work on defence..

plz guys you have the potential..!!

best of luck
