OH! RATHORE!!!!
by kiran on Aug 26, 2004 10:01 PM

Hi,

What rathore has acheived is still to be understood by us indians.HE HAS GOT A SILVER MEDAL IN AN INDIVIDUAL SPORT IN OLYMPICS!!!!!

To acheive that one has to struggle, sacrifice & dedicate oneself to a level only imaginable.

His acheivement is 100 times greater than that of tendulkar or anybody in our cricket team. But sadly,We indians will forget him and his contribution soon because We love cricket so much that this lazy and easy game has become a part of our life.Fact is Cricket has become a parthanium plant for other sports in our country. So therefore I wish Mr.Rathore all the best as long his rememberance to us lasts!!!

Congratulations to Major R S Rathore from a fellow citizen
by Jayant on Aug 18, 2004 03:33 PM

A countryman's salute to a soldier for finally winning the first silver in more than a 100 years !
It took an armyman even in the olympics arena to show the sort of dedication, calmness and discipline required to win an olympic silver medal. It should serve as a shining example to the countrymen in general and other sportspersons in particular about what is possible once hard work is allied to discipline and spirit.I am sure Major Rathore could even have gone for gold if he were within striking distance of the UAE gold winner ; but as the major rightly said , it was probably Al-Maktoum's day.
However nothing can take away from Maj Rathore's tremendous mental strength in fighting hard and climbing up the ladder from 5th to 2nd place.
Well done Sir and accept this salute from a fellow countryman.
