The basis of PWC's forecast is totally flawed. The accountants' obsession with sheer numbers fails to notice qualitative factors like general national disposition towards sports as a profession/career, nutritional habits and physiological variations across regions. Besides, PWC's closing remark of India losing potential Oylmpians to cricket is wide off the mark - other than the odd Tiger Pataudi, Rusi Surti,Md Azharuddin and Md Kaif, Indian cricketers are not even athletic. Just look at Prakash Padukone at 50 and you know what athleticism is all about - find a cricketer in such fine fettle at that age and you would be looking for a needle in a haystack !
PWC should stick to what it knows best, which is vague generalisations. SPort is about passion and mental toughness. Economics, waelth etc has nothing to do with it.

I know several parents who pay through their nose for a chem, phy or math tution teacher. How many look for an atheletics or basketball coach???
