I am really amazed at the recent "opera" that the East Bengal coach Subhas Bhowmick has started. Not only did he call the IFA officials "idiots", but also went to the extent of getting Jose Ramirez Barretto of Mohun Bagan penalized by producing a videotape at an IFA governing body meeting that showed violence in the recent EastBengal-MohunBagan match. The main purpose of this was to get Barretto out of the picture in the forthcoming IFA Shield games and the League PlayOff Final. This is pure negative thinking and I am sure he has lost confidence in the ability of his own players and himself too. With the quality of players at his disposal in East Bengal today, I just can't understand why he has lost confidence in them. I am sure the Asean Cup success has gone to his head. I hope better sense prevails soon and I appeal to the EastBengal officials to discipline him as soon as possible. It will only be good for the team. However, even though I am a staunch East Bengal supporter, I hope Mohun Bagan wins the league playoff and Barretto scores. That will be poetic justice.
