Ms. Patwardhan, the term 'pot bellied sikhs' did not exactly leave a good taste in an otherwise beautiful article; esp. when u were trying to talk about the whole group and not just a few of them.As a group, Sikhs might as well be the fittest people out there!!!

I believe we have for long period given our hockey Stars a cold shoulder due to Cricket and it's really high time we should give enough support these talented Stars.

I would appreciate that if media can create a hype over Sachin's Ferrari car which is a bye-product of his talent but can any company come out in favour of our Jugraj Singh for his treatment in India or any other country with the fraction of amount of Sachin's Ferrari Car & the amount of taxes involved. Let Sachin come out & say that he cares for other sportsperson & especially for Jugraj Singh. Then he would be a real STAR for us.

I am a mega fan of cricket.. but it doesnt mean I hate every other game.. I like whoever bring laurel to the country, and like million other youths, I too had a hope that cricket is the only game where India can be the champion. But things are not the same way now. We have so many champions in the name Anju George, Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi, Sania Mirza, V. Anand, Neelam J Singh, Karthikeyan and the list goes on.. These are the sportspersons, not only known to India, but to the rest of the world. Even though these sportspersons excel in their fields, why is not their field so popular in India as cricket? Because of the lack of coverage to those fields and the media hypocrisy to earn only from the field where they get more attention. I blame it to the media who has to cover the other side of the Indian sports and project their strengths and weaknesses so that it would reach the commons. Even it is not too late now, take up the other Indian sports and concentrate atleast 25% of what you are focussing on cricket and surely you would find the result.

Jai Hind!!!
