Hi, After consistent victoies over Pakistan and other success recently, will India be recognized as favorites in Athens or not? They did well against Dutch in Holland opener but still looks vulnerable at times and did not finish Champions Trophy all that well. I would like CONGRATULATE Indian Team and fans for the GREAT success and also request the team to gear up for the MEGA event next year to bring back the old ultimate glory to the country.
Looking at the form, indian hockey team is in, one gets the feeling that golden days of indian hockey will surely come again..Congrats to our team for beating Pak again :))
Congratulations on a job really well done .. Hockey should also get a fair share of the media hype and the Indian sports psyche that is completely obsessed with Cricket ..
In this report, 4th para had some unnecssary exaggerations which was never asked for here in this occassion.
The para goes like this
"This was the fourth meeting between the Asian giants in the last two months. At last month's Asia Cup, Pakistan defeated India 4-2 in the league match, but India thrashed Pakistan 4-2 in the final to win the tournament for the first time. India had also beaten Pakistan 4-2 in the league match of the Afro-Asian Games."
Now Pakistan defeated India 4-2 and India "thrashed" Pakistan 4-2, now the use of word "thrashed" for totally un-called for because the margins were the same on the both the occassions.
I can understand the undertones and overtones of being a Indian, but care must be taken that we are viewed by the world over as a "friendly nation", so better keep the image both in words and action. Above all being a news reporting site, sites like this have to live by the ethics of being an unbaised reporter of information.
I just thought being a good citizen I should point out this fact.
