as far as i go schumi is the best f1 driver.fangio may have been getter but i have not watched his races.next the technology of these days, the speeeed and other factors make schumi the best. srivastan
If you tell me Fangio is better because he got less protection and someother lame stuff like that, then i will tell you that Fangio was not driving at > 200 miles per hour. Schumi is the Greatest.
schumi is undoubtly the best, fangio in his whole carrer won just 20 something races and schumi 70 . that tells the whole story. schumi colud have won few more chamionship well he came unlucky second few years in sucession. well fango didnt race too long thats his problem and lack of determination. may be he didnt had that much competition. i cant comment i hav'nt seen him race.
While Fangio may have driven in an era when safety aspects of the car were not at the level as we have today, it would be improper and absurd to say that a driver of the caliber of Schumi couldnt have coped up with it. The versatality of the driver to adapt to the conditions given can be clearly traced into schumi's driving abilities. I can say, while safely not comparing the two greats, that even fangio would have been in as much awe of Schumi as Schumi is of Fangio.
fangio was best at the age of 46yrs to create a record but schum!!!was too good to break the record by winning 71 times,8641 is lucky no:8th-position,6th time champion,4th in a row,1st-stands for overall first in legends,he is unstoppable
I was not around when fangio drove but schumi is simply superb!! Consider the move he made to unreliable ferrari than much better benetton. He won six and lost out two in the final races of the championship. Fangio may have drove with less safety but all the drivers had the same safety and if you see fangio switched over teams. we dont know if they were better teams or not. fangio too had team orders. About the attitude of schumi, hey this is not a city ride.. its racing and thats how it should be done. Both are greats of their own times.
Michael is surely the best driver in the history of formula 1. Fangio is nothing compared to him. Fangio doesnt even deserve to be compared with Schumi. Michael Schumacher is the best and will always be the driver in this sport. no matter who comes. And thats the bottom line .nothing more to talk about. Schumi is great ...... or i should say greatest.
