It was a revealation that Wilson Jones performed eye exercises daily. He was a very strict disciplinarian with spartan habits. He was a clean and amiable personality--gentleman to the core. I still vividly remember his 6 cushion canon in a match against Michael Ferriera at the Great Eastern Hotel in Calcutta in 1965-66. He had amazing ball control & played with supreme confidence. His passing away is a great void in the field of Billiards & Snooker.I doubt if there will be another one like him. May God rest his soul in Peace.
Dear Sir, In the sixties and early seventies only Hockey was mentioned as a probable winnerof a Gold medal for India. But Mr wilson jones used to be in the news all the times reminding the sports fans that an individual can definitely bring GOLD medal to India even when the teams fail.Hewas a great champion, true gentle man and was never in any controversy. If there are players like Vishwanathan Anand(Chess) Vijay amrith Raj, the Krishnanas(tennis) and Prakash Padukone (badminton shuttel),it is because of the trend and the way shown by Mr Jones. He deserves to be in the hall of famous sportsmen(alltime) for India. Wilson Jones amar Rahey.May his soul rest in Peace. Let his soul inspire thousands to follow his foot path.
