If my memory serves me right this is the first victory scored by Dempo Sports Club at the Ambedkar stadium in the capital. The famed blue and white clad club from Goa has won most of the important tournaments in the country and some even abroad including the one in the Maldives. It must be a happy feeling for the entire Dempo team and more so for the think tank led by Armando, Mauricio, Mahesh, Camilo and Custodio. This is a good time to prepare the team for the more serious battles ahead in the forthcoming NFL. It has been a nice gesture from patron Bab Srinivas Dempo to persist with the team even when the going had been a bit tough. This is a team many of us have been supporting right from the days when it was called Bicholim Sports Club in the 1960s. In the last four decades or so hundreds of boys have been able to don the colours of the club and display their talents entertaining thousands of spectators with their dazzling display across the country. Good luck to Stanley, Sameer, Pocket, Mario, Bolaji, Sunday, Prakash, Alex, Francis, Lazarus, Melwin, Jose, Filip, Wilton, Raju, Clifford, Mondal, Valeriano, Domnick, Desmond, Savio, Peter, Nascimento, Vincent and the youngsters !
