Its indeed a great day for Belgium
After many long years Belgians have a lot to cherish
in the sport scene. And no wonder that the Belgian King Queen and many top people were at the Roland Garros. And what a win it turned out to be for Henin.
This is a victory not only for the Belgians but for the current Womens Tennis as a whole. At one time it seemed to be that the Williams sisters will never anyone else even to enter the final.
Well done Belgian gals. Keep goinnn

Finally in tennis we have a winner in the ladies competition who has no pretentons towards launching a fashion label or is jaded by physically dominating the sport.

Unfortunately the networks in India simply want to cash in on the lowest common denominator- cricket. I suppose they cannot concieve of a population that has interests beyond cricket TRP ratings and advertising money.

God help us all, if we the viewers have no real say in what we want to watch. Bean counters and so called marketing "pros/ hot shots" now dominate decisions on editorial content.

Its all abt skill.... not power!!
by Bhaskar on Jun 07, 2003 10:08 PM

Well folks, Justine Henin proved it once again that Clay Court Play is not about POWER, but more of skill. First she thwarted the challenge of the Powerful Serena.. and the ofcourse... the much favoured Clijsters! That just goes to prove that clay court play is all about patience and skil. On the other hand look at the no of unforced errors made by Clijsters... gawd! I guess he hyped up a bit too much and tried a little too hard. Well... my heart goes out to Clijsters... having lost a tough final to Capriati last time.. and blowing her chance again. But then she should learn a lesson or two from Henin.... just keep calm and keep going!! Anyway.. both these girls have done Belgium proud and there is finally someone to challenge the American Dominance in Women's Tennis. Here is wishing both of them all the best... and hope to seem them both in the Wimbeldon final too!!

Justine Henin is a very exciting and delightful player to watch. She is a naturally talented and gifted player and with her dazzling strokeplay she is the Sachin Tendulkar of women's tennis.
