F1

It is so exciting and exhilarating...just the thought of seeing these guys zip past at 350 kmph on TV...my god if and when F1 comes to India it would be a day to celebrate. Also happy to note that Hyderabad is the front-runner for the event which would be a good justice to the great city which otherwise receives less focus on the National level due to National bias and other interests. But to think I would be able to see them burn tyres here in India is such a wonderful thought and I hope that day would come soon...for it would be a day every indian could be proud of the fact that we have moved one level up the development chain...

Why Criticize Hyderabad?
by Vishnu Reddy on Jul 17, 2003 02:02 PM

The CM of Andhra offered every possible help and promised to build roads, hotels to accomadate ,etc,. for the event and they found the facilities here. They would have decided Hyderabad as a front - runner only after taking all these into account. But great for hyderabadis though first the WTA Tennis Event and there is a chance of this :)

HYDERABAD IS A GOOD CHOICE
by bhawani on Jul 16, 2003 09:23 PM

Its kind of weird seeing people assume that Bangalore or mumbai would be a better bet than HYD if and when F1 comes to India.

For someone who has been to hyderabad and seen the infrastructure development, You got to be crazy not to give HYD a thumbs up.

Wake up you lot...HYD will be getting a lot more sporting action than any other city because the city can deliver.

Great news for F1 lovers

Its great to hear that authorities are realizing India's growing interest in F1. This will encourage many young talents to take up F1 and most importantly, many more sponsors will come up to sponsor the sport.

F1 Circuit in India
by Sirish on Jul 16, 2003 05:06 PM

Its really nice to hear that formula one is finally expected to enter india. At the same time its nice to hear that Hyderabad might host it. I've seen some messages which were against the selection of Hyderabad. Y should not it be Hyderabad. After all it has got the most aggressive CM in the form of Naidu and It is the only city which is making strides in development considering the fact that, It got developed just because of pure determination and hardwork of government. It doesn't have any base like chennai and mumbai..which has been places of development since the time of britishers.

surprising
by harish on Jul 16, 2003 01:17 PM

choosing hyderabad is really not convincing.
its pathetic to note that they are choosing
a city by technology for a f1 race venue
intead of race tracks and the crowd support.
if properly seen Chennai is the right place
considering the long history of the origin of
our racers and the famous race track at
Sriperumbudur, Chennai.

I think Bangalore is a better choice than Hyderabad for a F1 Circuit, but anyhow i will be waiting to see a F1 race in India.
