This is ridiculous. Would there have been a 5 line news article had india junior team madeit to the junior cricket world cup final. We should encourage all sports more. I mean there are reasons why India never wins any golds in olympics, Well because there is no encouragement from anyone(parents, Community, media) until they actually win a medal in olympics. Well nobody can do that without support.
We should learn to Apprieciate these things. And the media should be the forefront of this. Even family members will encourage only if they know that their kid will get somewhere. Right now the feeling in unless you are one of the lucky 16 members of the cricket team, there is no point in persuing sports.
We dont ned a special section like for the cricket world cup, Just a mention who on the junior team played well. Was the game tense or just a walkover???
Absoutey Superb!!!!!!! Out of the word Performance.... Even these words r not enuf to use as adjectives prefixing the achievement of these youngsters.... Suddenly, Every diamond has started sparkling in Indian Sports. Probably, they all r deriving inspiration n Motivation from their counterparts in other sports
Why are we not highlighting these achievements and making it "cool" to play Basketball or Volleyball and Tennis and making it easier for youngsters to opt for these as their career choices? It was very sad to note that the Hockey players get $20 allowance per day and are not living like stars. Believe me they deserve all the fame and money they can get, For all the money spent on Cricket, where are the corresponding trophies? Also, if we make National sports as big a deal (even a fraction) as in the USA with NBA/NFL/NHL then there will be big business, better players and more global standards all around. When was the last time you saw a state vs state game and when was the last time a West Bengal vs Salgaonkar was shown on ESPN on prime time with good camera work?
Just one more step boys, In cricket we fell in the last hurdle.. hope u guys will go all the way... Finally other sports are getting its due with all these achievements.. Good Luck boys..

It is very sad that, only cricket is being hyped as the ony sport in India. The media is conveniently forgetting sports like volleyball, football, tennis and even Hockey. By reaching the finals of such a prestegious tournament, our boys have proven that, India is gradually becoming a unavoidable force in every kind of games.
