Football was once again in the headlines after East Bengal won the Asean Cup. One has to think seriously about what coach Subhas Bhowmick had to say about the unproffessionalism of the Authorities in India. Here is team which has performed remarkably well on foriegn soil & within 2 days after arriving in India they have to play in a "Prestigious" tournament like the Fed Cup which is being played in unplayable conditions.
I would like to add that sports in India is highlighted only when we do well internationally. It seems that we are not proud of our national meets. Even in Cricket we know all the county scores but never get any coverage of the Ranji. Its time some Market Research should be done to market domestic sports.
