I guess the Indian's lack on 3 fronts...
1)Proper strategy
2)Exposure and
3)Athleticism
If they had proper strategy, they could have played well in their away match. There's no excuse if you have to score a 3-0 in the home match after playing your away match. That means you have lost by 2-0 or 3-1 or 4-2 which are all pathetic.

One of the major reasons for this might be lack of exposure in such fixtures.

A major problem that has always been seen when Indians play is that their energy levels flag towards the end. They simply do not have the wherewithal to play with the same intensity for one and a half hours of the game. And every moment of lost concentration costs a goal in football.

What is required is an imaginative substitution strategy which keeps the forward line fresh and enterprising and proper training which helps in players retaining their stamina even towards the end of the match.
cu,
Bharat.

Fate !!

Fate prevented India to qualify for the second round!!
As a team,India is a much better team than Turkmenistan.Specifically, when only Tomda & Manitomda are the only 2 players, playing in the U-23 present team, who ever played against Turkmenistan earlier. Although Turkmenistan is the same side, which got thashed by India in the Busan Asiad (3-1),where Baichung(2)and Abhishek Yadav(1) shattered them. This 2004 Pre-Olympic Qualifiers, only the away match disputed penalty(93min) sealed the fate for India !!
