So be it....
by urs on Feb 12, 2019 01:33 PM

Despite Anti Corruption clauses, corruption was made in Bofors. So, may be it does not hold good anymore. But you guys did the same thing marketing the coffin scan during vajapayee govt and came to power. Later it was proved NDA was not guilty, but by then, you grabbed power. The same being done in the name of Rafaele. So, misguiding and confusing all the way to grab power. But this time, you cant fool anymore. See if you any other important issues to focus and oppose. Also, Anil Ambani is an indian and what is wrong in he being partnered. Better than outsourcing to any Italian Industrialist, right ????

RAGA should know buying rafale is not buying potatoes
by s kumar on Feb 12, 2019 09:53 AM  | Hide replies

buying rafale is not buying potatoes: its a phased technology absorption. Customer is not king to dictate terms when supplier has cutting edge technology and we dont have/cannot develop, other equivalent options. Its negotiations between governments. The way its going congg has got itself nicely trapped in this affair. simply shooting out statements without solid evidence, money trail etc..

The Congress party
by piri on Feb 12, 2019 08:59 AM  | Hide replies

was indeed corrupt. It allowed the systematic institutionalisation of corruption in India.

But the BJP is a bunch of big time bandits !

The public wealth stolen by the Congress pales before the gigantic plunder by the Modi led BJP !

This is the only reason why the BJP is so easily able to so hugely outspend every other party in election campaigns, propaganda blitzkriegs, ceaseless media campaigns, shepherd tens of thousands of people in buses for hundreds of rallies, maintaining millions of ready on call cadre and rioters, purchasing small political parties across India, entice MLAs and MPs of rival parties to resign...

Whatever plunder the Congress used to do in secret, the BJP is doing several fold !

And the BJP under Modi has attempted to regularise several streams of such plunder with its electoral bonds law, removing the cap on donations to parties by corporates and... removing the condition that the identity of the donor is to be declared !!

The Rafale deal is just one among many scams in progress to fund the BJPs massive world record election, propaganda and party, politicians and officials purchase expenses.

Approach SC
by babukmenon on Feb 12, 2019 02:01 AM

If the opposition is so sure of corruption, let them go to SC with all the proof they have and sue the Govt. They have a lot of SC lawyers in Modi haters' group. The SC will be too happy to punish the Modi Govt. (we saw the street agitation by 4 judges outside the court and one among them is the CJI now).

If you are unable to do this, then it is considered only as a false, worthless, rubbish allegation which the general public does not care. Pl. do not waste precious time of Parliament on matters without any sense or substance.

My humble Submission is that ,if "THE HINDU", have such a great proof of wrongdoings in RAFALE contract, why don't the approach the Court and file a PIL. Otherwise , after Supreme Court has given the present Govt a clean Chit, after thoroughly examining every details of the contract. If the Hindu have proof go to court, else shut up.

it means nothing can be proved in any scams? I am neutral person but how it is good that a businessman manufactures defense fighters plane. And why a person should buy an item by paying cost 3 times more than actual cost.

Dear Rediff .... you are a part of the 4th pillar of democracy.

Your role is very crucial and sensitive. Pls ensure you dont spread lies or sensationalize half-truths.

Agreed its your bread and butter, but please dont leave behind ethics.

Please put nation first, not any political party or any faith.

@Sachin:

You come across (to me) as a "genuine" person who prefers polite discussion rather than online abuse.

My question to you is -- if TheHindu has reported removal of anti-corruption clauses from Rafale Agreement, and if rediff reports TheHindu's revelation, how can you accuse Rediff of "spreading lies or sensationalizing half-truths"? On what basis are YOU claiming that TheHindu is lying, and hence Rediff is also lying? Have you seen the Agreement yourself?

I'm just trying to understand how you've reached the conclusion that Rediff or TheHindu is lying, regarding the removal of anti-corruption clauses

agree with you sir, doing doubt is the first step of investigation. And this is true that something was played during these transaction. And can you imagine a private businessman will manufacture the planes for air force, how about national security and confidentiality. This is first time that an private businessman will be doing this, and surprisingly that company does not have any factory or even land so far.
