They have been in bad shape for quite some time, especially since the groups attempt to steal 2G spectrum at throwaway prices by bribing DMK leaders Raja and Kanimozhi fell through and huge borrowings made by them in that venture went bust after the 2G scam was revealed.
Of the more than Rs. 6 lakh crores owed to public sector banks (most of which is money belonging to the general public) by crony capitalists (and which is notified as NPAs by the RBI), the ADAG alone owes nearly Rs 90,000 crores !
The only inference that can be drawn from the above facts as well as the Modi governments refusal to reveal the full details of the price and its decision to remove HAL and bring in RDL is that the Rafale deal has become simply a deal to divert tens of thousands of crores of rupees from the exchequer to the pockets of Anil Ambani and a part of it from there to the BJP party coffers to fund its enormous election campaign expenditure !
Otherwise, Nirmala Sitharaman would not have changed her stance so many times and so contrastingly in the matter of revealing the actual price details of the fighter !

BJP can not win any elections easily without the support of the organisation like RSS and its disciplined, sincere, dedicated workers.
RSS know that there is no hope for BJP in 2019 and they are going to loose. That is the only reason they are taking such a stand and to save the image. Many good things have done by Mr. Modi and many blunders too. The benefits of this good deeds will be reaped by the coming govt. BJP will feel the pain of implementing long term capital gain, haste in GST implementation and Note Bhandi.
