Rahulji and congress leadership
by on Sep 16, 2018 06:17 PM

Congress has to come up with a strategy were everybody excepts. But unfortunately they are criticising the ruling party without substance. For example diesel/petrol prices have risen in UPA government itself. Can congress guarantee to bring down the prices to bare minimum?. They are just fooling the public. Congress leadership should come to reality and play responsible opposition role.

Umesh Joglekar
Prime ministerial candidate
by Umesh Joglekar on Sep 16, 2018 06:12 PM

I think Shashi Tharoor is a prime ministerial candidate. Though I do not like Congress, in democracy you need good opposition party. Gandhi family is useless and should be forced to migrate to Italy, by the way of excluding them.

There are many, let there be elections and one to one contest. Then count your eggs, as rightly told by Mamatadi. The most acceptable from them will be the leader. Let it be any one including Rahul.

Rape as a political tool
by Renju Dharan on Sep 16, 2018 04:10 PM

Post the 2012 gang rape, RAPE has been deployed as a political tool inside India. Rapes are being used as political tools to attack government machineries. In these cases I am not saying all cases may have collusions, but the people perpetrating the crimes, means planning and later politicization of these cases are the REAL criminals. There was a time when religion was used as a political tool to galvanize soceities. If the gang rape of Haryana is being politicized, that party should be looked down and spitted up on.In this case it is Congress,to facilitate the crowing of shehzada. There should be a rule passed by the supreme court of this country to deplore using such heinous cases as political tools. Wake up people. This is shameless ruthless political drumbeats leading to elections trying to pipe Indians into voting on a certain pattern exciting anti incumbency. Disclaimer : not a BJP supporter at all.

The BJP,
by piri on Sep 16, 2018 02:14 PM  | Hide replies

in all likelihood, will get a second term in 2019 (albeit with a significantly lesser number of LS seats) !

Whatever the opposition does, it wont be ready enough in 2019 !

It is better that komaaaali Modi is allowed to self destruct completely by giving him another term !

And, the opposition has not offered a credible set of policies yet !

Moreover, with the immense black money power the BJP has built under cover of its constant high pitched lip service and shows against corruption, the opposition would be light years behind in election campaign funds !

The BJP is already busy trying to purchase some of its main threats such as the BSP ! The BSP and other such parties only have to name their price for moving aside tactfully !

The BJP, in all probability, is the richest party in the world now (if unaccounted wealth is also taken into account) !

Why would Komaaaali Modi labour so much to hand over the Rafale deal from HAL to the bandit Anil Ambani ?

Oye ever stinking, kalumal, useless, jobless komaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaali Buffoon, write something about the future poll prospects(?) of the party you blindly support. The komaaaaaali referred by you is elected prime minister of this country and is not an idiot like you that without any reason he will sideline HAL in Rafale deal. When the full details of Rafale deals will be disclosed, your stinking komaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalis will have no face to say anything on the issue and will hide in your hide out quietly and sit in one corner wirth your tail between your legs.

Is Rahul a PM material
by Manian on Sep 16, 2018 12:39 PM

If it is a property or chattel you can talk about people who can inherit but in case of leading a nation it is only the capability and maturity which counts. He should be able to inspire people with his vision rather than reproducing written script. Others in Congress does have neither the support of the people but can be in top management of a corporate structure at the max. The opposition does not have one person who could be projected as a Prospective PM and the all are looking for inheritance right only. A person who talks lousy about India etc cannot be a good leader

Technocrats vs. Politicians/Bureaucrats
by Venky on Sep 16, 2018 10:33 AM

The fact of the matter is that the most extreme of the religious orders have no major discomfort with Congress. Is that, or should that be a qualification? No !

We have alternatives which throws up personalities who are eccentric in their manner. Does someone say the current prime ministers and presidents of the large countries, carry themselves well? No !

Even the Chinese model seems to be coming apart. Pakistan realized that they can't have an independent economy if they depend on China ! Probably Vietnamese are the smartest, they fobbed them off early enough

So, really, we need technical experts like Manmohan Singh managing economic institutions. Politically, whoever sits on the top of the heap doesn't really matter - they must be large hearted, even if foolish

Therefore, Mr Ambassador, we don't need guys who are too-clever-by-half! Most bureaucrats and diplomats are of that kind, never got us anywhere.
