Veda vaidya, do you find any differnce between other muslims and Bohras ? The Bohras are the most peaceful community and never involved them in any politics.
Bohras practise FGM,inspite of it being banned by WHO ,they blindly follow their Syedna. The Syedna and his extended family live like kings and Queens whereas the brainwashed Bohra has to toil hard to finance this extravanza. A average Bohra suffers from slavery syndrome.

If a Bohra musters enough courage to speak against the syedna, that poor guy/girl is excommunicated from the community in no time. So we have to speak for them and try to liberate them from this tyranny.
MODI's leadership skills and acumen is the need of the hour which INDIA needs at present. Shall be happy if we can free INDIA from the misrule of this Nehru-Gandhi family who has given only ashes and hollow assurances to the public since last 70 years.

Bohras are a closed community whose day to day lives are strictly governed by the diktats of their leader Sydena ( holder of hereditary post). When some members of the sect, led by the late Ashghar Ali Engineer tried to get the stranglehold of the Sydena loosened, they were physically attacked and excommunicated. When Zail Singh was invited to a function to honour the Sydena, Enigineer and his followers urged the President not to participate, but in vain.

When whole community repect the head of their community( By whatever mean he command such respect), the people in minority like Ashgar ali Engineer can not bring any reforms to their community in absence of any support from other members. Giyani Zail Singh had rightly refused to accpt request from Engineer.

Collection of compulsory cash tribute at each event(birth, communion, marriage) in a devotee's life, the practice of excommunication of an entire family for the 'lapse' of a single member, prohibiting women from jobs to which they are qualified just because there are male officers in the workplace (e.g. banks) areas some of the practices against which Engineer fought. Physical assault of those striving for reforms is not the way to deal with the matter. It is also violation of the law.

I do appreciate guts and courage of Ashgar Enginner in his fight for reforms but how many people from his community supported him ? Hardly very few people had shown the same courage like him. But what this few people can do when almost all the people pay the religios head without any complaint and accpt this as an very old custom ? what is the effect of Engineers fight for reform ? Absolutely no effect. Unless majority of people unite together and stage revolt for reform, nothing will change in this community and people will continue to obey their religious head willingly or unwillingly.
