Japan and Germany were totally destroyed in world war 2 and yet within 15 years they were developed nations, while India after 70 years of political independence, with many natural resources is still a 3rd world developing country, ever wondered why?
Japan, Germany, Switzerland, South Korea, China, Norway, Sweden, Australia, etc. are rich and developed, because they recognize merit. While in India only private sector (organized as well as unorganized) recruit employees regardless of cast or religion and further recognize and reward employees on merit. But the private sector is controlled by government, where merit has no place, so private sector cannot contribute much to development of India.
If we want quality of life then only merit should count, irrespective of caste or religion. Government should create free as well as affordable facilities where young people from all religions, castes & communities can learn and fine tune their skills and knowledge and then appear for competitive exams for professional courses.
Further selection of candidates for government jobs should only be on merit and in no application forms should ask for religion, caste or community.
But the issue is do we have any political leader who can rise above religion and caste and think of India? Till then we have to wait

You are an imbecile if you squarely blame politicians only. IN DEMOCRACY, VOTERS SHOULD BE GIVEN FIRST BLAME FOR BECOMING VOTE BANKS!!!
He promised to finish hate among masses on caste basis, he has come under trap of caste based politicians within NDA as well as of congress. Except punishing middle class on all financial front, he did nothing to improve governance.
Aii the political parties in India want to keep alive the Caste & religion based policies for their Vote banks. Even after 71 years of Independence and spending several thousands of Crores of rupees India could not eradicate poverty & illeteracy from amongst these so called SC/ST, backward and Dalit communities as some leaders claiming champions viz.Lalu yadav,Mulayam Singh , MS.Mayavati,Mr.H.D. Devegowda etc. for these backward castes grabbed and amassed all the monies allocated for these communities development purpose by misleading these communities. The unscrupulous political leaders in alliance with the Ministers/leaders of the ruling parties and asection of Govt.Officers shared these allocated funds for development of the backward communities. This shameless unholy activities of the Ministers and political leaders could not improve lives of these backward communities. The unscrupulous political leaders in India is not willing to scrap the caste & religion based policies and instead to legsilate Economic factors which only can eradicate poverty,illiteracy and improve living standards of these backward communities, for the leaders personal interests & illegal monetary gains.

Although I would praise Mr Modi for many of his initiatives but I strongly oppose his SC/ST act. I do not find any solid reason on ban of cows-slaughter.Many of his promises, which had nothing to do for better Governance.
