REHABILITATION of STREET DWELLERS
by c vm on Oct 30, 2018 10:24 AM

Mr. Singh, DG of Prisons has another feather in his cap which shows his inner heart of Philanthropy & Humanity. i.e. he made shelter home for street dwellers and destitutes who would be picked up from the roads and rehabilitated in Jail care homes (shelters). It is really heart-touching , benevolent act that should be emulated in all other cities and towns of all States & union territories and should be done at Governmental level not restricting to individual govt. official level. It is a clue from this DG OF Prisons.

Finally a cop has realized his duty

Rather than position. They have severe attitude problems. I hope prisoners are also taught to mend their ways and serve the nation.

Its is time to send Singh to Kashmir. Bihar may improve soon but Kashmir might take a bit longer. We need more knowledge in J&K

Great work VK Singh

Its only people like Singh who commands respect for the police force because such officers though hate crime do not hate criminals and treat them as human beings those deserving strict punishment for the crimes but at the same time not to be treated as animals and to try and give them a chance to change themselves and be good to the world. Indian prisons are in the worst and horrible state. And no justification is there for such a pathetic state of affairs of jails just because it has to keep criminals. Nobdoy is born criminal and there may be many reasons for resorting to crime, though crime in no way is justifiable or tolerable. And basically punishment should be in such a way that they repent for what they have done and in turn give something to society for what they have taken from the society. So, except for hard core crimes performed by criminals, all those who are in jail for petty crimes should be used to services of the society which require very hard and tough work which would have double benefit. One is they will understand the value of having a life, secondly they will understand the value of struggle and thirdly people and society will be benefited. And even if peanuts if they earn form such work, they will also understand the value of money as well their family would not be starving raising more frustration and crime mentality among their children.

You are right. His body language dshows who is. If was that "good" he would never have become Director General. In the police force everybody has to buy his promotion and posting. Jails are a rich source to make money. He has belly size "disproportionate to his income".
