Heart rendering..

Why should the railways not be blamed? We have a whole lot of officials deputed at each railway station. They are 100% responsible for what goes on in at and around the railway station. Not one official on duty should be given a clean chit.
Secondly timings or no timing- No one should stand on railway tracks. Are we suppose to stroll on railway tracks. How ridiculous this argument is?
Organizers must not have set this up with officials around knowing. Now since a tragic incident has taken place suddenly why are the organisewrs being blamed. It is simply a case of indifference and ignorance from all ends. and only and only the railway officials are to be blamed. They are answerable and no one else.

Railways cannot be blamed
by rajesh venkatraman on Oct 20, 2018 12:04 PM

When the 2 trains passed, did any of the local or the organizers bother about the safety of people on the tracks.
May be the 2 trains were local and this one would have been a super fast express train and how on earth would a train driver know that people would be on tracks and that too in hundreds.

If they were locals did they not know of the train timings and which trains pass at what time of the day.
If the event was being conducted for the last 20 yrs do you mean to say that there were no safety meansure taken till date for this type of event.
You were waiting for such incidents to happen then.
why blame the railways then,

the careless attitude of the people whether on vehicle crossing the tracks with passengers or school children is the fault of the vehicle drivers and not that of the railway as the vehicle can slow down or wait before crossing the track as they can even apply sudden brakes

The train cannot apply sudden brakes and it will lead to another major accident as the bogies can tunble down killing more than hundreds just to save a few person or animals

Crowd management is very poor in India. There should be a norm allowing only certain number of people depending upon size and location of the place. At the moment it is free for all, any number of people are squeezed in any area irrespective of size.
Whom to blame if people climb the wall and stand on Railway Track to make video or take selfie???? We need to have our own civic sense, government can't do everything.

What a mess

Very sad indeed. But don't blame railway authorities alone. When will our countrymen learn some basic things in life? If you are watching something standing on the railway track, then you are inviting trouble for yourself and don't blame others for the tragedy.

Railway track..is meant for trains
by Dhantannan on Oct 20, 2018 11:34 AM

Pl. do not stay on track even if no trains unless gate is open.Further even stay at safe distance from tracks at least 5-6 meters away, as speed of train can suck you up.

Safety Measures - Peoples resposibilty first
by sanjeev kumar on Oct 20, 2018 11:33 AM

While this accident is heart wrenching -- Before blaming railways , one should also understand that the track on which people were standing was an active one -- many trains pass through that. People took unnecessary risk which resulted in this tragedy. After all the tracks are meant for trains . Second the organizers should have done better crowd management. We need to find out if they had take taken necessary permissions from the authorities or not ?? Condolence to the families affected !!
