The very concept of "hurting religious sentiments"
by Chaitanya B on Oct 20, 2018 04:09 PM  | Hide replies

The term "hurting the religious sentiments" is something I've heard so many people use.

People on this msg-board have used it. Politicians have used it. Judiciary has used it.

Never really understood what the term means.

How could a religious sentiment possibly get "hurt" ? Is it a person ?

Whenever there is a claim that a religious sentiment has been hurt, what actually happened is that a person A felt that his religion has been insulted by person B. But then, is such a feeling (of feeling provoked) justifiable? Can religions really be insulted ? After all, Religions aren't people.
