it is unfortunate that Sushma ji will not be available for next election. She has done a stellar job as Ext affairs minister. Rescuing Indian nations stuck in war zones in Syria etc was a great job and brought succor to their families. She was very prompt whenever any body sought her help for various reasons to many persons of meager means, women and even to a Pakistani child who needed visa for medical treatment in India. I also heard her reciting and analyzing Sanskrit shlokas when she was felicitated for her contribution in presence of Shankaracharya.Her in depth knowledge of Hindu religion, philosophy, Sanskrit and culture was wonderful. She has been one the best ministers in BJP cabinet for performance and humanitarian approach.
She may opt for RajyaSabha.That opening is there.o the reason may be same as P.Chidambaram\'s refusal to contest 2014 elections on LokSabha ticket knowing thqt defeat is imminent.
Its very sad. But it is the reflection of BJP today. New BJP do not want known leaders who are in depth in their knowledge, values and principles. new BJP want only apple polishers.
It is very bad for the country in general and for BJP in particular that Sushma does not like to contest 2019 General elections.BJP already lost very talented good leaders like LK Advani,Murali Manohar Joshi,Yaswant Sinha,Arun Shourie,Venkiah Naidu on some count or other.A very people-responsive leader like Sushma also not being in the race is bad.Modi will finally be left with all Gujarati bhais.
