Here two things are important to note: 1. Only the cities whose names are based on names of In-vaders are being changed and not all Muzlim named cities like Lucknow. 2. The in-vaders changed these cities' names forzefully and with ul-terior motives to pronounce their vic-tory over the place and sub-jugation of the local population.
Now, when the local population is demanding the restoration of these cities' names and their pride from their constitutionally elected government, what is wrong in that?
I do not know either Amulya Ganguly his intentions. But one thing is certain, he doesn't really know Indian Hiztory. When English names are changed to Indian names, there is no problem, like Calcutta to Kolkata and Madras to Chennai. But when Perzian names are changed to Indian, he has a problem.
