CB/NAIDU MUST DROP SPECIAL STATUS DEMAND FOR AP
by damodaran mohan on Nov 10, 2018 05:45 PM

While Naidu is indeed doing laudable job for the country but his past must make the opposition leaders to be careful dealing with this serial back stabber in the past. That's why they should ask him to drop his specific demand of "special status" for his state of AP. Why ? Given the AmitShah-Modi combine of chankya niti of saam...daam..dund....question is what happens if they dangled the SS carrot to him just before elections? He could just switch side w/o wasting any time! What is the guarantee he would not do that?He met Stalin too, that's good but a recent report quotes A.Raja of DMK not ruling out going with BJP. Possibly with arm twisting DMK on starting 2G probe afresh. Modi is a master in such tactics. One positive is a former PM , Dev Gowda has been roped in and can be a senior acceptable candidate should any differences arise on leadership issue.

can change any time
by servantkris on Nov 10, 2018 02:58 PM  | Hide replies

naidu can change sides any time based on opportunity. This alliance may benefit congress a bit, but naidu is not going to get a drop from it. After 2019 naidu will either join nda again or will be with no power in hand

Better sense prevailing in Rahul
by Jayaprakash Balan on Nov 10, 2018 02:54 PM

Its better sense prevailing in Rahul that he has joined hands with Naidu because Naidu is an experienced political campaigner as well a progressive minded politician and atleast better than all the other opposition political parties leaders. He is a modern thinking man and though can't say a clean man or not, but atleast not very much corrupted. Rahul has better understood that only the whims of Gandhi family will not work if they have to give a good fight to Modi and Co. And Naidu can very well be a good PM contender because he has the stature like Modi and probably can understand India better and have a good vision for our country because he is the man who has changed Hyderabad and brought Andhra Pradesh into the global map and attracted lots of FDI to Andhra and Andhra is really one of the good developing states of India.

Naidu' alliance with Congress
by koteshwara chappati on Nov 10, 2018 12:15 PM  | Hide replies

It will be a big flop in Andhra and he has to face similar humilatin as Akhilesh had. Intilligent and experienced leader like Naidu is supporting a half mad half Italian who knows nothing about our country is really shameful. TDP started by NTR to rout out congress from AP and really it worked out that time. Will the TDP leaders accept this alliance whole heartedly or dump Naidu silently, one should wait and watch. The big beneficier is YSRC and tables will turn to opposite sides.

Cong lost its base after the death of Rajasekhar Reddy - Jagan claims for CM position - anticipating it as a bad precedence he was denied. But Jagan has been capable of eroding cong base. To regain it may be difficult for congress.

However Jagan will not be interested to ally with BJP fearing a slide in his vote bank - This would be situation during Parliament Election.

Who could be the winner in that scenario?

Communal/Religious
by Gladyschellam on Nov 10, 2018 12:08 PM

Reg TN: Whether the author knows, the number of votes so called upper castes in TN have - may be 3- 4% of total electorates. Had TN people voted on the basis of Castes, can he tell as to how many MP/MLAs are from them. Respectability of so-called upper castes have gone down since 1960s as others' literacy, employment, industrial and trading activities have gone up. In general so called upper castes prefer to be in employment than an employer. Assuming that TN has been voting on the basis of Caste or Religion it should have more Vanniars, Nadars, Gounders & Thevars and of course in every party their representations are more or less equal.

TN people about 95% vote, not on the basis of caste or religion. In fact all political parties select their candidates based on the concentration of respective communities. Mr Pon Radhakrishnan won in kanyakumari during 2014 as three other parties have contested without alliance. Had people voted on the basis of castes BJP must have a minimum 10% of total votes polled at any point of time whereas their voting %age is just less than 3%. Whenever Congress had alliance with either DMK/AIADMK in most of the elections the beneficiaries are the dravidian parties only. IN Chennai city and in major corporations people do not bother about any caste but prefer a party.

Whether the erstwhile CMs M/s CNA, MK, MGR & JJ had any communal support? Can be included Rajaji & Bakthavatsalam in that list.
