Dear Finance Minister,Now you are justifying that confiscation of currency is not the objective of demonetization. You should remember the high-lights of the Honourable PM's broadcast to the nation at 8.00 p.m.on 8 th November,2016.PM said the broad objective of demonetization is bringing unaccounted money and non-tax paying money into the system. So the declared objective was not met though the other objectives now being interpreted are met.No account of counter-feit currency was so far given. How much tax was collected on demonetization effect, what was the impact on growth rate,slow-down of economy, loss of business in MSME's above all what was the loss of human beings and what was and how long was the suffering of people.Honourable FM is giving some lame explanations to the country.

Not only the economy but also the country with their ill thought or not planned strategies, Mr. Pm and Cm of Maharashtra you will have to pay the price for the wasteful expenditure on statues rather than keeping the welfare of the people. You call yourself a fakir, look at your clothes they tell the truth. If you really are a fakir then act and dress like one. Everyone including the world leaders know what you are? They may hug you in public, but must be laughing behind your back for the hugs you force on them, that is not Indian culture, Indian culture is joining hands and saying namaste.
Mos of the government officers in Maharashtra depend on bribes and these people have occupied all government jobs not only in Maharashtra but in central government and mos of the other states as other states do not have so many lower-castes people registered.
Due to this monopoly most of these government officers and cops take bribes and generate huge amount of black money.
They stop vehicles on the road and have regular customers where they get regular income from transporters and other businesses.
It is very difficult to end this monopoly of one state over all other states.
Everything is costly in Maharashtra due to this huge black money
Maharashtra also everyone is suspicious of each other and they do not live like other people but think each other and outsiders as thieves-and-robbers

Sir,What is the relationship between Caste & Bribe????Plz explain for the benefit of Rediff readers!!!!!!!
Confiscation of Currency was not the aim of Demonetisation: Government surely expected that an estimate of 10-20% of currency would not be deposited and hence tantamount to confiscation or rendering redundant and wipe of RBI liability and a windfall to the coffers. That did not happen, in that respect, it was a big miscalculation.
In reality, black money did get into the banks through various channels, with connivance of all type of bank bureaucrats and got the status 'assumed white'. If indeed lot of I.T. notices have been sent to depositors and there is a reward at the end of the tunnel, then it was a an exercise worth.
Formalisation of the economy seems to have happened substantially, but still cash is heavily floating around, probably eclipsing the volume and value of 2016, which mocks the very meaning of digitisation and the Government has miscalculated heavily.
Demonetisation was a good intended exercise, but awfully implemented and post event follow-up is terrible, thereby diluting the purpose. Whomsoever the brains behind the move did not think through the whole length-and-breadth of the implications and ramifications of this exercise.
